The Undergraduate MIS Course in A.A.C.S.B. Schools

McLeod Jr, Raymond

ABSTRACT: A mail survey was conducted of 145 A.A.C.S.B. schools. Responses were received from 113 schools with undergraduate programs indicating that 62 offer an MIS core course. Information provided by the professors sheds light on the prerequisites, topics, experiential approaches, perceived success factors, and anticipated trends. At present the course has a systems analysis emphasis. In the future the material will be more related to small-scale computers and will increasingly be integrated into the curricula of the business disciplines.
